Title: chrome browser on kali sana
Post by: -$@LV@Ti0N- on August 15, 2015, 04:54:03 PM
i tried patching chrome-browser for root use with no positive results

i found this way to work

its not the prettiest way but it works

if anyone has a better way please post it as a response i would love to know

if not i hope this helps those who want to use chrome-browser on kali

lets begin

i simply added a non-root standard user by typing this in the terminal

   useradd -m chromeuser

then i used alacarte to edit the chrome-browser launcher to run this command in the terminal instead of the current command that is there

so replace the current menu command to launch chrome with this

   gksu -u chromeuser google-chrome

and make sure to put a check in the run in terminal box ..and thats it

IT TWERKS !

the terminal will  give a error message but chrome will load ( like i said....not the prettiest way) but it twerks

again if you have a much more clean cut way to go about this i would love to hear it

cheers

How I do chrome on Kali as the root user, because lets face it who wouldn't want to run their browser as root? /s

mkdir /root/.chrome
google-chrome --user-data-dir /root/.chrome --no-sandbox

If you want you can throw this into an alias within the bash profile for root, so you don't have to type those args every time.
