I recently installed BackBox on my 1005HA and so far it appears that everything works, with no tweaking involved. Touchpad did not work when running live disc, but after install, it does, including multi-touch. This sure is a lot more portable than the HP G60 I swapped it for. ;D

I picked up a 1005HAB for 100$ about 3 weeks ago. I would have taken the HA if one was available. I also swapped out the hdd for a 60gig SSD.

Only thing that was driving me nutz was the sensitivity of the touchpad. I disabled Tap2Click, then added a startup cmd to make it persistent.

terminal#: synclient MaxTapTime=0

Session & Startup > Application Autostart > add: bash -c “synclient MaxTapTime=0”

These machines are great, and people sell them in great condition for so cheap and they run so well with pentest distro's. (among others...)
