just got this today, and it works great.  very narrow beam, but it will reach out and touch.

The problem with this and other antennas of this type is connector and feed line loss at 2.4 ghz. There are 2 fixes USB and lan going to antenna and transceiver.

yeah if it is not close to you, you need something to boost the signal. I use a 50 ft. USB cable with a built in signal repeater.

I use only USB flat antennas for testing and use a booster cable. Any object such as trees and buildings will block or reduce  signal . Just purchased a outdoor lan router for testing.

Just got this TP-LINK TL-ANT2424B, 2.4GHz wifi parabola, 24dBi, N-female beast.

Yes I know it is overkill but it feels awesome.

i use usb external wifi cards works nice for meh tho :P
