wyllem has a number of things to say about this!

Looks good dude, been looking to use a system that doesn't run as root for a while now.

Man !

I am blown away by the user account side of it.. fantastic work !

Looking forward to giving that baby a spin when u got it up.

Its also interesting to see what it looks like when you actually boot up.
Have you replaced the boot screens etc as well ?

Thanks guys for the support - it really makes it worth the time I put into creating something to receive such pleasant feedback.

@TAPE

Yeah man, I got a fairly passable Windows 8 boot splash that looks like this: (not the exact one I am using, just using it for example)

The GDM login I am using I threw together real quick, it just needs some improvement with regards to screen resolution - what needs to be done is make the avatar its own image - right now its part of the background which makes it stretch as you see: (actual screenshot)

compared to actual windows 8 login:

Some small tweaks need to be made, hopefully someone else can improve upon them before i get to it.

One of the coolest (probly not that cool)  things I implemented was to use Windows proprietary SegoeUI font for the User account. You really notice the difference when using the File-manager.

Anyways - just need to add a few more details and then I will have a iso up for you guys.

If all works well with this x86 version, I will get around to making a x64 version.

I have a few other things on my plate that I need to take care of, including updateing KLOS and also I am trying my luck at android kernel development which will take up the majority of my time.

Thanks again guys for taking the time to preview the videos and for leaving encouraging feedback.

I havent tested all the tools, I barely even use 1% of the tools kali offers. I am going to make sure easy-creds, msf, armitage, wireless injection + handshake capture work - but then it will be up to whoever uses this distro to leave feedback with what doesnt work.

This distro I think would be mainly useful for pentesters doing onsite reconnaissance and for users new to linux that still like the general windows 7 desktop feel. I learned alot about linux by comparing the functionality to windows.

Some screenshots:

Easy-creds (see the fake creds I captured)

Metasploit & SET

Armitage (w/ panel preview of msf and set)

@d4rkcat

thank you bro, I am thinking it would be cool to have a THS git folder where we can store all of THS's scripts including yours - so I can add them to a 'Members only' version. I havent been including custom scripts because I am too lazy to hunt them down on the forum and manually download them all. What do you think?

Yeah man that would be totally sick,
I was thinking of putting together a git folder sorted by type, similar to the 'pentest' directory on good ole backtrack so it would be easier to find the tools.
I could also add an update script to update them all at once :D
