Wondering if anyone could explain this to me. I have a thin client running windows which I use for a file server, print server, down-loader ect in my spare room. My Wifi router is in another room, so I connect this box to the network using a DDWRT router as a client bridge. (This box has no wifi card)
Now my laptop is in the living room running off wifi, because my walls are soo thick I've got another DDWRT running as a repeater. So basically I have this with main router in middle of flat:
REPEATER <--------->MAIN ROUTER <--------->CLIENT BRIDGE
Now wanting to improve things I bought a power line plug. Put it in all fine. Wanted to test the difference in speeds with Lanbench so did tests with power line 1st, switched back to repeater and no joy! Although my iphone can ping the server fine, my laptop cannot. My laptop can even access the client bridge via IP fine. I'm confused. Any ideas?
EDIT: Just checked the laptops arp cache, no entry for the server! (All IP's are statically assigned via DHCP btw). Ill add a static arp entry for it and report back.
Editx2: That fixed it. Why is my windows 7 laptop not learning any arp entries dynamically when my phone is just fine?? Sake windows :-/
