I dont see in the script where it tells the OS to use compiz as the window manager.
You also have to setup compiz to use emerald as window decorator.

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install  build-essential git autoconf libtool libwnck1.0-cil-dev libwnck-dev intltool libdecoration0-dev compizconfig-settings-manager

cd /tmp && git clone git://anongit.compiz.org/fusion/decorators/emerald

cd emerald
./autogen.sh
sudo make install

I am kinda confused by all the wait and sleeps. I simplified the code.
Also, why does it remind you to remove Wheezy repos from sources.list if the script doesnt even add anything to sources.list? Wheezy is Debian, but this script is for Ubuntu 14?

Just in case this leaves the user with more questions, I recommend reviewing
http://www.webupd8.org/2012/11/how-to-set-up-compiz-in-xubuntu-1210-or.html
to properly setup compiz.

Now, now 0E, go easy on the newbies.  ;)
Thanks for rewriting the code; looks like sal vation was happy with the rewrite.   :)

sal vation, thanks for digging the script out!

It's cuz it's an old script from Backtrack 5 =P
I'm pretty sure i have a copy of it laying around somewhere. I also add alot of sleep's when i write bash scripts, mainly cuz i don't know how to code for shit lol, so i put em there just to be safe

Edit: I said Backtrack 5 cuz it's from right after the transition to Kali. When people were still figuring out how to install conky/docky/compiz etc. I remember it cuz i used to break my kali installation like once a week and start new. Kali 1.0 or 0.1? was buggy as hell.  You had to get compiz from the Squeeze repo and it was almost impossible with the dependencies. I took like a year off of linux eventually from trying to get it right =P
