Backtrack 4 Question

Hey i wanted to ask i remembered any of you have any luck getting sources to work to install stuffs on Backtrack 4?

Ever since they discontinued it haven't had any luck getting stuff from the apt-get

Not sure where i can get sources that will work with backtrack 4

Hmm, I suppose they may have changed repositories. You would need to get the most recent sources.lst file. Its in one of your root folders.

I am not 100% sure about this, but I think I was under the impression that they disabled all of backtrack repos shortly after releasing kali.  Am I wrong about this? I havent tried to use backtrack since then.

You may be right. I haven't touched backtrack in probably a year. I'm an APOLLO user.

i think they did retire all backtrack sources i couldn't install any thing via apt-get on bt5 either but check this out http://top-hat-sec.com/forum/index.php?topic=3113.0

Indeed the repository works just fine and wget works as well.
Exampl : downloading easy-creds via wget :
