Social Network, or Social Enginnering...?
« on: December 03, 2016, 06:29:41 AM »
So today, I received an email from a church friend that stated she left me a private message.
Being the skeptical type (why would anyone send me a private message instead of calling or texting), I decided to google-investigate the link that showed up when you hoovered over it.
Because my friend does missionary work in China, I didn't want to just dismiss it as spam until I dug a little deeper.
Yeah, I could have just asked her... but come on, what fun is that?!
The service was Zorpia. Since this guy did such a good writeup of it, I will just leave it to him to explain it to you.

Easy fix:  Don't use social networking.  Has worked for me for many years now, side benefit being you don't have to see what idiots your friends are around election season!

I know, I know I'm sure there are some legitimate uses for social networking, there's just so much utter trash out there to wade through I found it not worth it.

Yeah if you are established in  your job and don't need to market yourself, there isn't a lot of need to use social networking.
If you are looking for a job, that is still one of your best bets I feel.

I just thought the article was really interesting and what was happening in the background of this one was quite intriguing!  ;)

Oh certainly.  I will admit to having a LinkedIn account... though now that M$ is buying them who knows how that's gonna end up!  I've been pretty lucky to have a job I enjoy (mostly) for the last almost 12 years.  I know that a lot has changed since the last time I had an interview!
